The staff were very friendly and attentive. When a problem arose, it was handled quickly and efficiently. Family owned and operated. While some other guests have complained about the train, the train does travel through the center of town and no matter where you stay, you will hear the noise. Good value for the money.

Love this motel! Comfortable and clean. It’s the little things that make this an extra special motel. The coffee/tea basket also had a granola bar, packet of cookies, and hot chocolate. Each room has a theme and I like to stay in #7 which is decorated in patchwork quilts – reminding me of visiting Grandmothers. Jamie, the owner, is always kind and very helpful. It is obvious that she goes above and beyond to make this little roadside hotel a special place for all of her guests.

We loved our time at Top Hat! We noticed and saw all of the special touches that made us feel taken care of. The hammock was awesome! Next time I am in Ritzville, I would definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed the motel. It was clean and fresh. I was greeted warmly. There was a nice hot shower in the morning on an icy day. The new flat screen in the room was nice. I’d stay here again! Put this motel on your great value list.

We broke down late at night and thought we wouldn’t be able to find a place to stay. Thankfully, Top Hat Motel came to the rescue! Every person we talked to was extremely warm and welcoming, and we had a great time.

On our way to Montana, we booked a room with two twin size beds and received discount from a booking website. Our room had one twin bed, but we were happy to get a very clean and comfortable room with steam radiator heating. No noise and no forced air at all. Fairly clean carpet, bathroom with plenty of towels all fluffy. Overall, the room was excellent except the drainage in the bathtub. I would return next time I travel to Seattle.

What a find! I’m so glad we came here, both for the motel and the historic downtown. Jamie, the relatively new manager, has done a great job building up a lovely garden in front of the hotel. There is still the BBQ and pet area others have mentioned. There is a coke machine next to the office with 12 oz cans for.75 cents. There is no ice machine but, if you ask Jamie, she’ll gladly go get a bag for you and keep it in her freezer until you need it.

Since summers here are notoriously hot, it’s good to have a/c which works well. We did not hear or see any signs of the train others have mentioned (though it wouldn’t have been a problem for us, if we had, as we’ve grown up next to one). It’s across the street from an iconic-looking silo and the WA State Wheat Growers Assoc.

The rooms are very spacious (not obvious from the outside, as it’s a typical, drive up to the door, old-fashioned, roadside hotel), have flat screen tv, microwave, and larger-than-average frig.

Jamie recommended her parent’s restaurant, Memories Diner, just a few blocks away in the historic downtown. She said if we mentioned her, that we’d get a 10% discount. I was prepared to check it out and walk away but it looked really decent so we gave it a try. Again, we were not disappointed. It seems this family is working together to revive many historical, familial, and cultural aspects of the town (another daughter cooks at the golf course!).

Her mother greeted us, fed us well (check out the shredded chicken salad and request the mango salsa as your dressing, and the homemade peach teach, you won’t be disappointed!), and made us very welcome, all for around $20.

Then, be sure to take a walk around the historic downtown. If you’re there during the day, there are many cute shops and active historical and agricultural businesses, including the county extension office, a lovely Carnegie Library (which is open late most days and has free wi-fi), a railroad museum, and an association actively promoting the restoration of historical downtowns for other towns to follow. There is also a water park, nearby.

This was a much needed suprise. We chose a mom and pop style spot over a motel 6 this time. The people were super friendly and the room super clean. They have a beautiful little garden where you can sit outside. Free satellite TV too.

I am so impressed with the top hat motel. We were traveling from Seattle and ended up in rirzville late at night in need of a room. I read a previous yelp review and decided to try them. Upon calling to get a room I spoke with an extremely friendly voice. I believe her name is Tara. She gave me excellent directions and a fair rate. The rooms were impeccably clean. The beds were way comfy and the pillows perfect!! I slept like a rock!! I highly recommend to anyone. I would definitely choose the top hat motel again!!!
